Demonstrator FAQ:

What is the minimum sales requirement? You need $300 in sales per quarter.  This can be earned all at one time; or, over the 3 month period.

Do I have to do this as a business or can it be a hobby?  SU! is great about supporting all kinds and levels of demonstrators.  (See the Join the Fun! page for the different types of demonstrators.)  You can be a discount, seasonal, or hobby demonstrator, so long as you make the quarterly minimum of $300.

Can I be my own hostess?  Yes.  You can place an order for at least $150 and be your own “party”; gather orders from family and friends, and place a hostess order; or, have a workshop in your home, and place your order as a hostess.  Doing so gives you the hostess rewards and your 20% discount.

How much does it cost to get started as a demonstrator?  Starter kits are $99.00.  They can be completely customized; or, go with suggested items for an emphasis on card making, or the Big Shot. Starter kits include up to $125 worth of SU! products and $50 worth of business supplies.  That is a total value of up to $175 for only $99!

How can I make money as a demonstrator?  You get  20% Instant Income with every order.  You can earn a monthly volume rebate if you have enough sales (5-20% of total sales).  You can also earn a monthly downline override commission of 2-6% of your recruits sales, if your sales meet the minimum requirement; and, you have a downline.

Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?  No!  You just won’t earn the override commissions on your downline’s sales.

Where will I get project ideas for my workshops?  What kind of training can I expect?  You will become part of my team and we will meet to share ideas and for training in techniques and business tips.  In addition, you will get a bimonthly magazine from SU! filled with workshop ideas, business tips, ideas and more.  You will have access to Stampin’ Connection, an exclusive social media site for SU! demonstrators around the world.  The site has training video’s, ideas from demonstrator’s, discussion forums, and so much more.  You even get your own page!  Stampin’ Up! University is an online site for demonstrators to find how to video’s, questions and answers, and more.  Stampin’ Up! has an awesome demonstrator support available via phone.  There is a demonstrator manual, webinars, a product guide and more available on the demonstrator site at SU! You can also contact other demonstrators for  their ideas.

Is Stampin’ Up! a well-known, respected company?  SU! has been in business since 1988.  They were started by 2 sisters giving in home workshops with their products.  Since then they have become an international company, surviving when many competitors have failed.  They have won many industry awards and accolades, as well as the loyalty of demonstrators and customers around the world.  They work hard to maintain this trend of growth, quality, and loyalty.  See the company’s values and vision page for more.

What if I decide I don’t like being a demonstrator once I have started or can’t meet my minimum requirement?  Will I be penalized for quitting or not making it?  You may quit at any time without a penalty.  Simply stop placing orders.  SU! also realizes that life happens and sometimes you just don’t have the time or money to continue as a demonstrator.  In that case, you may rejoin as a demonstrator at a later time.

Does the compensation plan ever change?  Yes.  In fact the first phase was just put into place with the introduction of the new catalog on June 2, 2015 with a new hostess reward system.  More changes will be happening on October 1, 2015.
