My Stampin’ Up! Story

About 16 years ago I attended a ladies night out for our church.  One of the activities was stamping.  I was not impressed.  A few months later, I was at another one and one of the activities was again, card making.  That time I was hooked and have been addicted to stamping ever since.  A year or two later I became interested in becoming a demonstrator and thought about it for quite a while as we lived way out in the boonies.  Eventually, I signed up, as the only demonstrator I knew was about a 6 hour drive one way; and, it was a real pain to order my stamps and other supplies.  While I would consider myself to have been a hobby demonstrator, I did manage to make enough to make my habit free.

Sweet Flowers My Stampin' Up! Story

About the time the economy went bust 8 years or so ago, we moved off a 1400 Acre ranch and into a camp trailer.  While most of our things went into storage, my stamps and most supplies moved into the belly of our camper.  For about a year we lived in campgrounds; and, every time I wanted to stamp, my husband and 2 sons, would pull everything out for me.  The picnic table would be filled to overflowing and I would have to stamp  at our tiny table inside.  A couple days later, when the guys got tired of stamps all over the picnic table, couch, bed, and inside table, I would have to clean everything up; and, they would put things back in the belly of the camper, until I just couldn’t take it any longer, and started getting grumpy!  During that time, I had to give up being a demonstrator.

About 5 or 6 years ago, I was able to renew my Demonstratorship.   Here in Phoenix I have been so fortunate to be a part of a group that meets locally and I have grown so much as a stamper and in my creativity.   Being able to share ideas and learn techniques first hand has been so helpful.  I have also been able to attend several retreats where I took classes.   One of the things on my bucket list was to attend SU! Convention; and, I was able to go a couple years ago.  On the way, we drove right past the original SU! buildings.   About a year ago, someone from the SU! office called and asked if he could use the pictures I took for a workshop or powerpoint he was putting together.  Of course!
