Hi! I hope you have been having a great week. I have been enjoying getting to spend time with my daughter and son-in-law. We have had several family meals with them and today is their baby shower. The theme is anything turtles. Crissy and Kevin have a tortoise that is so cute. Austin’s (they have already named the baby) room is decorated in turtles and other under the sea animals. Here is my card for today’s shower…
To me, a personalized card is one that fits the person like a glove. Let me explain. Crissy and Kevin love turtles and tortoises. She is a sweet, firecracke! I know, quite the contradiction, right? Kevin is fairly easy going and laid back; but, not afraid to pull his fair share of pranks either. He adores her. This baby is really wanted.
Here are my tips to personalize a handmade card:
- Notice how I have taken likes, interests, theme into account? (turtles)
- Consider the personality of the person/people involved. (humor, young, male and female, caring, family is important, animal lovers, want the baby)
- What is the occasion for the card? (baby shower-before baby is born)
- There should be meaning in the card.(mom and dad ‘turtles’ are excited for their children)
Ever since I met this wonderful lady that is in my up line, I always think about one of her favorite sayings when I make a card.
“There can be no naked envelopes!” Mercedes Person
I always chuckle to myself; and, pull out an envelope to stamp, or fix, so it isn’t naked!
Now it is your turn, to head to your craft area, and personalize a handmade card. Don’t forget to think about interests, personality, occasion, and meaning as you design. I would so love to see what you come up with. Please share. Until our next visit…..
Happy Stampin’ and Scrappin’, Paula
